I remember the first time this limited culture Texas gal experienced the diatribes of Spalding Gray. As a fan of Laurie Anderson, I was quite intrigued back in 1987 when I saw she created the soundtrack for "Swimming to Cambodia". So I went to see the film at the River Oaks Theatre, the better of two 'arthouse' theatres in Houston.
Mindblowing and riveting. Afterwards I was jolted by the realization that I had just visualized this person's experiences through his words.
And to this day I still like to share his insights on the Thai sex shows, and hope to find a man who enjoys "Oobley, oobley". Just no banana tricks....
