My friend and stylist, Farrah, was 45 minutes behind yesterday, so I browsed out the shop next door, Blackmail. I love that store, whitewashed walls with a few striking quotes painted on the wall. Black Christmas ornaments as big as my head, handpainted with Chinese dragons.
Oh, my! If I won the lottery, I'd buy all my presents there, and even some for lj friends.
Here's my virtual Christmas list:
drfardook - a black dead rubber duck I think he would be amused by
decibel45 - a pair of vintage cowboy boots and also...wait, that might be one I can afford!
ghewgill - a small handheld side viewer, not quite as powerful as his telescope
ginger931 - a gift certificate (DUH! 'cause she'd want everything in the store too)
stickcow - a silver and black candle that smelled heavenly
equiraptor - bobble headed black cat
popejoan - vintage sunglasses
tericol - classy silver incense holder from Japan
hobbitblue - the three vintage (50's?) mechanical elves in the window, that move.
lolliejean - beautiful vintage Aurora Borealis gold rhinestone earrings, to match her sunny glow
ivo - a black and blue dressy bowling style shirt
dopplertx - ooh, that second thing I could afford to buy for
decibel45, better get back there before
First Thursday before they're all bought up!
Sorry if I left someone out, but I have too many lj friends to cover now, and other obsessions to fulfill.
So tell me if I hit or miss!
One of Santa's workshop is sawing a log, but I suggested replacing the saw with a bow and the log with a cello. The store owner was trying to change their "theme" while I was there, and one was scratchin' with a dj turntable.
