So I've been thinking long and hard-

and I think I am going to finally get a tattoo, on my left upper arm. One of HJ's friend's had offered to give me a free tattoo a couple of years ago, but I've decided that if I am going to get one, I want the best. I've consulted quite a few people I know with tattoos, and think I want to have it done by Rachel at True Blue. The artists there are really good, and Scott even did HJ's "HANDSOME" for HJ on his belly. Sad to say I didn't see that tattoo until he was lying in the ICU bed on life support...

Anyway, I think I want to work on the idea of the word "Handsome", with wings on either side, but will see what Rachel comes up with. Turns out she did the cover art for the HJ Tribute album.

I might recommend that you consider putting it someplace that's easily hideable. Not because it won't be beautiful artwork, but because it may not be appropriate for every occasion. For example, if you want to go to a benefit dinner or something and wear a sleeveless dress, it might not really "go with" the occasion.

My mom has two tattoos - one on each shoulder. Fairly easy to cover up, and at the same time fairy easy to show off.

But it is your body, so you don't have to listen to me. :)

Yeah- I was thinking if it was high enough on my shoulder, it might be hideable with short sleeves- I don't usually where no sleeves to work. I am a little worried about appearances, because I do so many presentations to the regulated industry. Also my boss and I were discussing my potential work future- I don't want to be a team leader or section manager, but we can both see me becoming a special assistant to the division director or higher. Higher profile means more "professional" appearance.

Problem is, I have this idiosyncrasy about wanting the tattoo to be somewhere that *I* can view it directly, and not a reflection of it. I also don't want it to be someplace too intimate, because that's not the intent.

I guess I'll have a little discussion about it today with Alicia...and maybe even the div. dir. during our informal meeting we have scheduled today, since he does ride a Harley so I think he'd be open-minded. He even took off (along with the Executive Director!) the Friday during the Republic of Texas rally!

Rachel is awesome... she did my third tattoo just a week ago. She comes highly recommended.
