Someone on my friends list compared the Terri Schiavo issue to legislation allowing hospitals to cease life support in cases where the patient had no insurance or payment means. Who was that? Trying to find the article referenced.

Is it the Advance Directives Act that Bush signed in 1999 that allows hospitals to pull the plug on people against family wishes?

BINGO, baby!!

I think someone linked to anti-Delay post on kos where it was referenced, but I was ignorant of the act. Thanks for putting a name to it- hadn't gotten that detail.

Are you talking about the Texas Futile Care Law? Under that law, a Texas girl, named Sun Hudson, was euthanized by a Texas hospital against the wishes of the mother.
